Internship Opportunities

Position Title: Community Programs Intern

Community Programs includes the coordination of discussion groups, dinner hosting and volunteers.  Great Decisions is a citizen-based discussion program sponsored nationally by the Foreign Policy Association and coordinated locally by MIC. Dinner hosting provides MIC members opportunities to meet and host international guests. MIC offers various volunteer opportunities throughout the organization. The volunteer program at MIC is an evolving and expanding program.

Supervisor: Community Programs Manager

Responsibilities/Duties:

To provide assistance to the Community Programs Manager in the following capacities:

  • Prepare correspondence and mailings

  • Update data and track statistics

  • Communicate with participants by phone, mail or email as needed

  • rogram preparation including correspondence and physical set-up

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills

  • Interest in community service, intercultural communication, volunteer coordination and/or working at a grassroots level to promote the discussion of world affairs in Minnesota
