Minnesota International Center - A World Affairs Council
From Your Peers

It was a perfect evening, in the exotic company of three gifted and impressive people.  The conversation covered Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and America; we talked about Islam, Christianity, the battle for women's rights … and much more.

Thanks for introducing us to these talented and accomplished Indonesians, and for letting us renew our fascination with this fabled island republic and its people.

I admire the amount of devotion, commitment and hard work of the American people and how much they respect their guests.  I just wish that in the future my English language abilities improve in order for me to go back to the U.S. and thank everyone for such a program in English.

You have no idea how hosting through MIC has enriched our lives.  The world has grown both smaller and larger for us as a result of those who have come to our home.  Now when a critical event occurs somewhere in the world and someone in my office asks if we know anyone in the country affected, we often do – because of the MIC hosting program.

Thank you for allowing us this opportunity to meet citizens from around the globe!

Our discussions were lively, engaging, educational and entertaining.  I think Ahmad summed up everyone’s sentiments when he commented at the end of the evening, “How could four hours seem like 10 minutes?”  I sincerely believe we have made a lasting friendship and in some measure strengthened relationships between our respective countries.
