Minnesota International Center - A World Affairs Council
Getting Started

MIC invites you to consider organizing a Great Decisions discussion group.  Invite your neighbors, colleagues and friends.  MIC has staff and volunteers available to help you get started.  Please see our short manual Guidelines for Group Leaders for more information.

How do we get started with Great Decisions?

  1. Decide who the participants will be
  2. Decide on your preferred format and resources

Options:
• Bring in a speaker to begin the discussion
• Use a half-hour videotape segment to frame the issue for discussion
• Organize a discussion based on reading the article in the briefing book

  1. Contact the Minnesota International Center to discuss plans and order materials
  2. Decide on the date, time and place for the topics you will offer; publicize the topic and location (see a sample meeting format)
  3. Evaluate the session to gain helpful suggestions for the future.
